Creating Tranquillity in Berry Hill
This project in Berry Hill required a complete garden overhaul to deliver a simple, contemporary design to the space that made it easier for our clients to manage.
The garden originally had an odd shape, which made it difficult for our clients to make great use of the space. To enhance the new garden design we created two distinct seating areas in the garden to maximise space and give our clients plenty of room to spend time outdoors.
Crafting the Layout: Our Garden Design Solution
The main portion of this design project was the development of the large patio and paving areas. As the landscape was an odd shape to begin with, it was challenging to create a contemporary garden design that made the best use of the available landscape while also meeting our client’s desires.
No project is too big or small for our garden design team and they expertly crafted a stunning new landscape for our clients in Berry Hill. To make use of the compact and oddly structured garden, our contemporary garden design took shape through the large patio, with an additional pergola and a small artificial lawn to maintain some of the natural appearance.
These structured areas would create two seating areas in the outdoor space, with one being underneath the pergola, which granted shade on a hot summer’s afternoon, and the other on the patio to soak up the rays.
Paving the Patio With Belize Porcelain Fino Paving
The paving choice was crucial in this project, as this was a large part of creating the contemporary design. To create a sleek, modern look to the landscape we installed Belize porcelain fino paving.
First, the area was cleared so we could meticulously mark and design where the new paving would be. Once these markings were complete, we dug down six inches, then backfilled with a 20mm crush run to create a solid, durable foundation for the paving.
The patio was carefully laid on a wet bed of sand and cement at the correct level. Charcoal edging was used to highlight the colour of the paving and separate the two areas.
Detailing: The Knightingale Way
Although the layout of the design was simple, attention to detail was crucial to getting this project right for our clients.
Following the installation of the paving, we then added lap fencing around the barrier. This was installed with lights, so the garden could be used in the evening and continue to be a beautiful haven for our clients.
To maintain some natural appeal in the garden, we installed an artificial turf. This lux grass was installed over a granite dush and detailed with a charcoal border edge, much like the patio, to separate the space and give it a distinct appearance.
Secured with Verta edging, the grass added a refined touch to the design and created more usable space for our clients.
The Final Result
The final result of this contemporary garden design is nothing short of a masterpiece. We created a sleek, modern landscape that maximised the landscape available to our clients – leaving them delighted with the results, along with our team.
The odd shape of the landscape posed a challenge for our team, which makes our work even more rewarding and is why we love what we do at Knightingale Landscapes.
