A Stunning Back Garden Transformation
For this project, our team was tasked with renovating a large back garden for our clients in Sutton in Ashfield. The back garden needed some help and the clients desired a unique, usable space that the whole family could enjoy whatever the weather.
This was a complete garden transformation which required several areas of work to deliver the best results for our clients, from paving to patio development and even the installation of a summer house.
Laying The Foundation For The Design
The first challenge was clearing the space and taming the land so our creative vision could begin to take shape. As part of our complete garden design service, our team handles the preparation as well as the installation and finishing touches to ensure complete satisfaction every time.
A large portion of this back garden transformation required paving, with custom designs to fit the space, which is why our first task was setting a durable foundation. Once the designs were marked, our team laid a 20-millimetre crush run as the foundation for future paving work.
This was then compacted for additional stability, creating a solid base for our team to work on ahead of creating the garden of our client’s dreams.
Winding Roads: Circular Paving Installation
This back garden transformation had a unique theme – circles. Rounded paving was to be installed across the garden, along with unique circle features to offset the design and help the land work stand out.
To create the waving pathways, charcoal block edging was put down. This created the frame for the paths, circles and patio areas, which would be filled with concrete for a durable foundation.
Following this, the paving areas were then paved using Belize Riva porcelain paving which creates a sleek, luxurious appearance to the garden. All paving joints were filled with PremJoint jointing compound to ensure lasting stability.
For the finishing touch, the paths were then covered with 20mm resin pearl blush to add colour to all the areas and create something truly unique for our client.
Softscaping And Wooden Garden Features
Now that the hardscaping was complete, it was time to add some softer elements to deliver a comprehensive garden design. For this, we installed grass areas into the two circles we had created with the paving border to add some natural tones to the landscape.
A beautiful wooden circle sculpture was added on a walkway between the two grassed areas, serving both as an eye-catching feature and an elevation element to make the final design completely unique to our clients.
While we also created the spaces and structures for planting, this was left bare by our team as the client wished to add a personal touch by planting the garden themselves. We simply created the groundwork for this to be possible.
Tranquillity Guaranteed: Summer House Addition
This back garden transformation was not complete just yet – as we also installed a summer house for our clients, allowing them to enjoy the beauty of their new garden no matter the weather.
This summer house was set on the newly resin-paved patio, with winding paving leading directly to its doors, to create a perfectly tranquil corner.
A Vibrant Final Result
The final result of this back garden transformation was a unique space teaming with colour, interesting shapes and functional areas.
This was a particularly interesting and enjoyable project for our team due to the meticulous circular design to create a bespoke outdoor space that fits the landscape perfectly.
Our client was very happy with the final result and was so pleased with our workmanship that they later hired our team to design and install a new resin driveway at the front of the house.
